Meeting held 15th May 2012 1-2pm

It is interesting having a meeting with a group of people who are educators by profession or background. Especially in the context of this project, it certainly cause me to pause and wonder where and how I fit in.

As the conversation proceeded, the role of Instructional Designer was brought up and I thought that this may help to shape the role that I find myself in at Tabor where I can bring the technology to the content and academics and collaboratively flesh out how they are going to run, manage, teach and guide the delivery of the unit.

One of the questions posed for the group is “what are drives your practice?”. Interesting question for me having so little practice to speak of and reflect upon. So it will probably sit (like most other things for me) in the theoretical space - what ideals do I have? What ideas undergird these ideals?

Things for followup:

  • Suggesterd readings from the mentors?
  • Is teaching as science or art?
  • eportfolio as internal private and confidential space - what tools can we use?
  • –access to recording of sessions?
